Gardaí in Killarney have been called to the scene of an attack on a house in Ballyspillane in the early hours of this morning.
The attack on the house took place around 1 o’clock this morning, when it is believed a petrol bomb was thrown at the front door.
Several of the windows were smashed and there is fire damage to the door and the roof of the property.
According to Gardaí, the occupants of the house were sleeping at the time of the attack and managed to get out the back door safely.
No one was injured.
No arrests have been made as of yet.
There are unconfirmed reports that the Armed Response Unit was called to the scene.
There have been long-standing feud-related tensions amongst families in Ballyspillane.
Last September there was a reported incident in which one person was injured.
It’s believed this morning’s attack is related to that ongoing feud.
Gardaí are currently maintaining a presence outside the house, preserving the scene.
Investigations are ongoing.
