There was no luck for Killorglin duo Aileen Crowley and Monika Dukarska in their latest outing at the World Championships in Bulgaria.
They finished fifth in this morning’s women’s double schulls repechage which means they will contest the C Final on Sunday.
Monika says they didn’t execute their final push well, and got the wrong end of the stick this time.
On a more positive note, Ireland’s lightweight quad will go for gold on Friday after Andrew Goff, Fintan McCarthy, Ryan Ballantine and Jake McCarthy secured their place in the final in Bulgaria.
The crew had an impressive second place finishing in their repechage.
Olympic Silver medallists Paul and Gary O’Donovan have won their quarter finals of the lightweight double sculls this afternoon.
Reigning lightweight champions Mark O’Donovan and Shane O’Driscoll continue their step up to the heavyweight pairs at 2.30pm.
