Killgarven windfarm to go ahead.

The way is now clear for the country’s largest windfarm in Killgarvan. The 70-million euro project will see 24 turbines built on the edge of the no go zone in South Kerry. No objections have been lodged with An Bord Pleanala following the granting of permission last month.A spokesman for Hibernian Wind Power has told Radio Kerry News that the next step will be to look for grid capacity. Hibernian was also behind the controversial windfarm in Derrybrien in County Galway. An investigation took place last year to find out if construction work had caused a mudslide.
