Killarney Rugby Club fails to secure long term home

Killarney Rugby Club have failed in their bid to secure a long term home for the club. The Southern Health Board have informed the club that they are not in a position to offer them a long term lease on land which the rugby club currently rent from them for nine months at a time. The playing pitch is at ballydribeen off the northern Killarney bypass. The club has around 200 members from the age of ten upwards. As a result of the high cost of land around Killarney the club has ruled out purchasing the land. Killarney Town Council and elected members of The Southern Health Board have been supporting the clubs request. As its stands the club have a lease from August to April including this year.
