Killarney man charged with damage to 4th of July statues

A Killarney man has appeared in court charged with causing €2,300 worth of damage to 4th of July statues.

19-year-old Eamon Murphy of Cahir, Aghadoe is charged with criminal damage to property of Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce on the 6th July at Main Street, Killarney.

He’s alleged to have damaged the Abraham Lincoln fibreglass statue to the value of €1,350, and the Lady Liberty fiberglass statue to value of €950, which were erected for the 4th of July celebrations.

Mr Murphy was before Killarney District Court where Judge David Waters remanded him on bail until November 19th.
