Killarney Golf and Fishing Club members unhappy with fee increase.

The Killarney Golf and Fishing Club has come under fire for whats described as a substantial increase in membership fees. The club is citing the financial increase on the September 11th attacks, which has led to a decrease in American visitors to the club. However members are not happy with the 560 euro fee, a 130 euro increase for 2004.A similar problem has arisen with the upgrading of corporate memberships to permanent membership where 140 corporate memberships were offered at 5,000 euro. These same memberships are now being asked for 8,000 euro to become permanent members of the club. Those who do not pay the increase by March 17th will cease to be a member of the club. A three year business plan is being prepared in an attempt to resolve the difficulties.
