A Killarney councillor wants the council to give its backing to preserve the Muckross Traditional Farms.

The craft centre and restaurant at Muckross House and Gardens reopened last month, while due to social distancing, Muckross House and the traditional farms were due to open early this month.

There have been discussions in recent weeks about potential jobs losses at the property.

Councillor Brendan Cronin is calling on the Trustees of Muckross House to ensure that Muckross Traditional Farm is maintained into the future.

He wants the municipal district to give its backing to support the link with the county's agricultural heritage.
