Killarney councillor calls for consultation with landowners on planned bypass works

A Killarney councillor is calling for landowners to be consulted about planned works on the bypass.

Councillor Donal Grady raised the issue at the recent Killarney Municipal District meeting.

He says it is unfair that landowners have not yet been consulted with regarding acquiring lands under Compulsory Purchase Orders.

Kerry County Council says no decision has yet been taken on whether CPO will be required or not.

The council adds until planning consent or approval is obtained, the land acquisition process will not be commenced.

The proposal to carry out junction improvements on the Killarney bypass have gone out to public consultation, this is in addition to earlier consultation with affected landowners.
