Kerry’s primary schools to receive funding under Minor Works Scheme

All of Kerry’s primary schools are to receive funding under the Minor Works Scheme.

The money will be paid to the 135 Kerry schools next week; they’ll receive a flat rate of €5,500, plus €18.50 per mainstream pupil, and €74 per special needs pupil.

The funds can be used for a variety of purchases or improvements, including to school buildings, furniture, or IT related equipment.

Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffin says the grants will go a long way towards improving the physical condition of school buildings.

Kerry Fine Gael Senator for Kerry Paul Coghlan is also welcoming the announcement.
