Kerry’s Live Register has hit its lowest level this year.
However, it is still significantly higher than the same month in 2019.
The Central Statistics Office says that 7,434 people signed on Kerry’s Live Register last month.
That is an almost 13% increase on August 2019 but marks a slight monthly drop of 2% or 152 people.
The majority of Kerry’s seven social welfare offices report a monthly decrease in August.
Killarney falls 44 to 1,058, Listowel is down 41 to 1,386 and there is the same decrease in Killorglin to 512.
Elsewhere, Caherciveen drops 39 to 307, there is a fall of 24 in Kenmare to 292 and Dingle is down 9 to 357.
Tralee is the only location to record a monthly increase of 46 to 3,522.
