Kerry’s Live Register falls 11% in a year

Kerry’s Live Register has fallen by over 11% in a year.

However, the figures from the Central Statistics Office show in December over 600 more people signed on compared to the previous month.

In December, 8,209 people in Kerry signed on the Live Register.

That was an increase of 8% or 603 people compared to November.

But it marked a drop of 11.4% or over 1,000 people in 12 months.

Last month, all but one of Kerry’s social welfare offices recorded monthly increases.

Killarney increases 330 to 1,583, Tralee jumps 88 to 3,458 but Listowel has a slight drop to 1,262.

Dingle is up 62 to 585, Caherciveen increases 35 to 366, Killorglin rises 59 to 627 and Kenmare is up 30 to 328.
