Kerry’s Live Register back on the increase

Kerry’s Live Register has increased by over 800 as the end of the year approaches. Social Welfare The Central Statistics Office says that 14,304 people signed on in the county in November. It follows four consecutive months of decreases. The latest figure is a monthly increase of 840 or 6 per cent but when compared to the same month in 2012 it is a yearly drop of almost 10 per cent. All of Kerry’s social welfare offices are reporting monthly increases. Tralee increases 143 to just over 5,800 (5,843), Killarney is up 307 to over 2 and a half thousand (2,513) and Listowel jumps 53 to almost 2,700 (2,676). Killorglin is up 55 to 1,200 (1,213), Kenmare rises 97 to 584, Dingle is up 163 to 861 and Caherciveen slightly rises to 614.
