Kerry’s Brendan Griffin named as Minister of State for Tourism and Sport

Kerry TD Brendan Griffin has been announced as a Minister for State with special responsibility for Tourism and Sport.

He’s currently chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport.

The 35-year-old from Keel was first elected to the Dáil in 2011.

He was also a member of Kerry County Council from June 2009.

He first stood for election at the 2004 local elections after which he worked as parliamentary assistant to Fine Gael TD Jimmy Deenihan.
