Kerry woman appointed Dean of Education at Mary Immaculate College

A Kerry woman has been appointed Dean of Education at Mary Immaculate College.

Dr Emer Ring is currently Head of the Department of Reflective Pedagogy and Early Childhood Studies and Programme Leader for the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Care and Education at the college.

The Cahersiveen native began her teaching career in Aghatubrid National School and Foilmore National School, and was subsequently based in Valentia Island and Presentation Convent, Caherciveen.

In recent years, Dr Ring has been the principal investigator on a range of national research projects covering areas such as early childhood, inclusion and autism in Mary Immaculate College.
