Kerry wins two top prize at the Irish Independent Reader Travel Awards

Kerry won the top prize in two categories at this year’s Irish Independent Reader Travel Awards.

The county overall was voted Ireland’s favourite home holiday destination, while Castlewood House in Dingle won the ‘Best Irish Welcome’ award.

The Reader Travel Awards are run annually by the Irish Independent, with awards made this year under 16 different categories.

Kerry’s Joan McCarthy, Head of Tourism at Kerry County Council and Helen Heaton, Owner Castlewood House, Dingle attended the event in Dublin to collect the awards.
