A Kerry TD says legislation has an effect on more than just road fatalities.
Danny Healy-Rae was speaking in the Dáil today on a number of issues, including waiting times for sitting the driving test and an increasing number of early morning garda checkpoints.
He also says constituents are suffering due to stricter drink-driving limits, which is leading to increased social isolation.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar hit back at the Kerry TD, saying road traffic legislation is all about saving lives on the road.
However, Deputy Healy-Rae claims the Road Traffic Bill is having an effect which the Taoiseach cannot see.
