A Kerry TD says he didn’t ask University Hospital Kerry to prioritise a constituent.
Deputy Danny Healy-Rae admits calling the Emergency Department of UHK earlier this month during the ongoing trolley crisis.
However, he claims the call was made to represent a constituent and source information, not to fast-track any individual towards receiving a bed.
Deputy Healy-Rae says it’s not wrong to call a hospital for information, and it’s something he has done on numerous occasions.
The Independent TD adds he never asked UHK staff to allow a constituent to jump the queue.
