Kerry TD condenms lobbying about John Delaney appearance at Dáil committee

A Kerry TD has echoed the views of a colleague who says a decision not to bring the head of the FAI before a Dáil committee sets a dangerous precedent. Tom Fleming TD The Oireachtas Committee on Sport yesterday decided, without a vote, not to bring John Delaney before it to discuss recent controversies including a €5m loan to the FAI from FIFA. Fine Gael’s Brendan Griffin said that Mr Delaney should have appeared given the public concern about the recent revelations. He told the committee that a ‘dangerous precedent’ had now been set in Irish politics.
