Kerry students give their reactions as Leaving Cert results released

The Leaving Cert results are out and seven students have got top marks in all subjects.

A total of 57-thousand pupils sat the exams this summer, but they’ll have to wait until next week for their college offers.

Although results are generally in line with last year’s – around 1 in 10 students doing ordinary level maths failed the exam.


Education Minister Richard Bruton says if people aren’t happy, there’s still a way forward with many alternatives to college including PLC courses and apprenticeships.

These two Presentation Secondary Tralee students were very happy with their Leaving Certificate results.
They spoke to Radio Kerry’s News Editor, Treasa Murphy after collecting their results earlier.
Meanwhile, Ciara Carroll collected her results in Presentation Secondary School, Killarney via a most unusual mode of transport.
