Kerry shop owner forced to remove ATM due to soaring insurance

A Kerry shop owner says he has removed the ATM from his business due to soaring insurance costs.

Kieran McAuliffe has run a shop in Knocknagoshel for the past four years; last October, he decided to install an ATM due to the closure of the local post office.

He says the move has led to his insurance premium increasing by around €3,000 to almost €5,000 this year.

Kieran McAuliffe says losing the ATM is a big blow to small parishes.
