Kerry Representation At World Rowing Championships

The World Rowing Championships are to take place from 9-16 of Sept in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Kerry duo Monika Dukarska and Aileen Crowley compete in the Women’s Double Scull.

New Zealanders are the current world best time record holders in this event, while France are the 2018 European champions.

Racing is over 2000m and is spread out over the week, with heats, reps, semi-finals and finals being held every second day to enable everyone to recover and have best possible races.

Ireland has entered eight events, namely the Men’s and Women’s Lightweights Doubles, Men’s and Women’s Heawyweight Doubles, men’s and women’s heavyweight pairs, men’s lightweight quad and women’s single scull.

There are 11 boats qualifying for the Olympics at the World Championships in 2019, which are held in Linz, Austria.
