Kerry pupils highlight road safety awareness

Pupils with the winning illustrations for the 2018 Kerry County Council Road Safety Calendar competition.

Twelve talented primary pupils from Kerry have had their art work featured in the 2018 Road Safety Calendar.

The pupils were invited to enter a picture containing a road safety message into the Kerry County Council sponsored road safety competition.

Regional Road Safety Education Officer, Eileen Cunningham, presented the winning children with road safety packs, while they were also given a copy of the calendar by David Doyle of Kerry County Council.

Cathaoirleach of Kerry, Cllr John Sheahan also presented each of the winning pupils with individual prizes.

The winning illustrations for 2018 are:

June – Odhran McDonagh Scoil Dar Earca, Valentia, 6th class
July – Clare Ní Allarúin, Bunscoil an Chlochair, Daingean Uí Chúis, 6th class
August – Darren Reardon Scoil Bhréanainn, Portmagee, 6th class
September – Julie O’Sullivan, Scoil Náisiúnta Cillín Liath, Maistir Gaoithe, Cill Áirne, 6th class
October- Sam Power, Castlegregory N.S., 6th class
November – Donnacha Horgan, Scoil Naomh Erc, Glenderry, Ballyheigue, 5th class
December – Tom O’Flaherty, Ardfert N.S., 6th class
