Kerry principal to receive award for outstanding contribution to teaching

A Kerry principal of 25 years standing, who’s also an All Ireland medal winner, will be honoured for his outstanding contribution to education tonight.

John Mulvihill, who’s principal of St Michael’s College, Listowel, will receive an achievement award from the ASTI union in Dublin.

John won two senior All Ireland medals for Kerry and he believes his involvement in sport, as a player and manager, fostered his vocation as a teacher.

He says he’s delighted and honoured to receive the award.
