Kerry PNA defers decision on Deer Lodge Labour Court recommendation

The Kerry branch of the Psychiatric Nurses Association has deferred a decision on accepting a Labour Court recommendation on Deer Lodge.

The Labour Court recently issued a binding recommendation around staffing the new €13 million 40-bed mental health unit in Killarney.

The PNA met last week to consider this, and whether to co-operate with the opening or to continue to oppose it, until what they describe as a more acceptable staffing configuration is agreed.

They’ve deferred the decision to a further meeting next week, which National Industrial Relations Officer, Michael Hayes will attend.
