Kerry pharmacist believes no need to panic about potential medicine shortages

A Kerry pharmacist believes there’s no need to panic about potential medicine supply issues due to Brexit.

Jack Shanahan of Haven Pharmacy Shanahan’s, Castleisland was speaking after the Taoiseach said the Government has a watchlist of 24 drugs which could be subject to shortages in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

Currently seven out of 10 medicines brought into Ireland come from the UK.

Jack Shanahan says while there are no certainties with Brexit, the HSE has been preparing and he’s confident there won’t be any major medicine shortages.
