A Kerry MEP is urging people to have their say on the changing of clocks twice a year.
Ireland South MEP Sean Kelly has been in favour of scrapping the change for many years.
The European Commission is holding a period of public consultation on the issue and if the majority of people want to remove the clock change a proposal will be brought forward for all EU countries.
Poland, Germany and Finland have all indicated they want to stop changing the clocks.
