Kerry people urged to be extra vigilant during orange forest fire warning

Kerry Fire Service is urging the public to be extra vigilant over the next few days due to an orange warning for forest fires.

It’s been issued by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine until midday on Friday due to the dry weather forecast.

Kerry Fire Service is asking people not to light fires in or around forests or on open land, not to block forest entrances or roads, to report a fire immediately to the emergency services, and to report any illegal and suspicious activity to gardaí.

They’re also advising people not to approach fires or to attempt extinguishing them.
