Kerry has one of the highest reports of non-fatal workplace injuries for rural counties.

The Health and Safety Authority monitors health and safety in workplaces, and is responsible for ensuring that over 2 million workers are protected from work-related injury or illness.

In 2017, a total of 212 non-fatal injuries were reported to the HSA.

203 were incurred by a worker, while 9 happened to a non-worker, such as a passer-by.

Leitrim had the lowest number of non-fatal injuries with 34, while Dublin had over 3,300 reports.
