Kerry Minor Footballers To Begin 2016 Against Waterford

Kerry will begin their Munster Minor Football Championship title defence against Waterford The Kingdom are on the opposite side of the draw to Cork and Tipperary, who also meet in the first round. ¼ Final victory over Waterford would mean a semi-final for Kerry against Clare or Limerick. The winner of Cork v Tipp is to take on whoever emerges from the Losers play-off. Meanwhile, Kerry’s opening opponent in the Under-21 Football Championship is Tipperary. A win there would mean a semi-final against Limerick. On the other side of the draw it’s Waterford against Clare or Cork. Under-21 Hurling will see defending champions Limerick face Cork in the quarter-finals, with the winners advancing to face Tipperary in the semi-finals. In Minor Hurling Limerick play Clare; Cork face Waterford and it’s Tipperary v the loser of Cork v Waterford, with a semi-final draw to avoid repeat pairings. The Senior Championship semi-final between Clare and Waterford has been fixed for Semple Stadium in Thurles but a date for the game has yet to be decided. Laune Rangers have beaten Corca Dhuibhne 4-12 to 3-12 in the Ladies County Under 15 A Football Championship semi-final.
