Advance Works on the N22 Baile Bhúirne/Macroom Project are progressing well.

That’s according to Kerry TD and Minister of State for Transport, Tourism and Sport Brendan Griffin, who visited the site this week for an update on the works.

The upgraded section of the N22 will ultimately bypass both Macroom and Baile Bhúirne, extending east of Macroom to Slievereagh.
Advance works are being carried out in anticipation of future funding and remain on track for completion by the first quarter of next year.

Half of the new boundary fencing has been completed and fencing of the entire roadworks site will be finished by year-end.

Ground Investigation Works are also ongoing throughout the site area – these will also be completed before the end of this year.

Archaeological investigations are now also underway.
