Kerry MEP calls for right balance as climate talks come to a head

A Kerry MEP is calling for the right balance to be struck as the final push for a historic deal to tackle climate change gets under way in Paris today. Sean Kelly MEP Government ministers from around the world will be trying to hammer out compromises based on a draft agreement put together last week by negotiators. Ireland’s being represented at the talks as part of the EU bloc. The Taoiseach’s come in for criticism after he called for concessions for Ireland’s agriculture sector in Paris last week. Fine Gael MEP for Ireland South Sean Kelly, who’s a member of the European Parliament delegation at the summit, thinks a balance will have to be achieved between food production and reducing carbon emissions: [audio_player src=””]
