Kerry marks National Tree Week across the county.

A number of events are scheduled to take place across the county over the next few days to mark National Tree Week. The week which is 20 years in existence is organized by the National Tree Council of Ireland. The main aim of the week is to create awareness of the importance of trees as an essential part of the environment.Over the course of the next 7 days the Tree Council will distribute and plant 15,000 trees around the country. A number of plantings are to take place in the county today in Castleisland Golf Club, Mercy Mounthawk in Tralee and Flemby in Ballymacelligott. Killarney Town Council will plant broadleaves at Mission road in the town on Wednesday and a forest walk has been organized for the millennium wood at Rossacroo.
