Kerry man who heads up survivor group aware of at least one illegal adoption in county

The CEO of a support group for survivors of mother and baby homes and industrial schools says he is aware of at least one case of an illegal adoption in Kerry.

Oliver Burke grew up in St Joseph’s Industrial School in Tralee and has been campaigning for justice for survivors for 25 years.

Mr Burke who heads up the Munster Survivors’ Support Services Group says the terms of the Commission of Inquiry into Mother and Baby Homes need to be broadened.

He also says the State needs to apologise to those who came through such institutions:
