Kerry live register figures show slight increase.

Cahirciveen was the only area which recorded a slight increase in the number of people signing on. Meanwhile Killarney, Kenmare and Dingle witnessed the largest drop in unemployment which could be largely due to the onset of the tourist season. Kenmare had a 16 per cent month on month drop. When compared with this time last year the live register figures show a slight increase of just under 1 per cent. Nationally the number of people unemployed rose by 300 last month. Labour’s spokesperson on trade and employment is Brendan Howlin. He says, today’s figures emphasise the need for continuing efforts to bring people back into the workforce.
