Kerry IFA and ESB to negotiate compensation package

The Electricity Supply Board and the Irish Farmers Association have issued a joint statement in an effort to clarify the subject of compensation to landowners on the planned Tarbert to Tralee line project. ESB have confirmed that a recent agreement was reached with one sole agricultural consultant representing a small number of landowners, and that this was not an agreement with the ESB and the ICMSA as portrayed in a number of recent media articles. It says that negotiations towards agreement on all issues relating to landowner compensation will commence shortly with the IFA. John Stack, Chairman of the Kerry Branch of the IFA is seeking proper compensation for his members. He is refusing to indicate how much money will be achieved.
