Kerry householders asked to up their game when it comes to recycling

Kerry householders are being asked to recycle more carefully this Christmas.

According to Kerry County Council’s Environmental Awareness Officer, many people still put items into recycle bins, that contaminate the entire load.

Oonagh O’Connor says companies in China, where recycled matter from Europe is usually sent, are becoming increasingly strict about accepting contaminated refuse.


Ireland needs to up its game to fall in line with other European countries – which is why a new campaign’s been launched to encourage householders to recycle better.
