Kerry Group says it has already contacted its fodder suppliers in the UK in the event that feed will need to be imported later this year.
A spokesperson for the global taste and nutrition, and consumer foods group, says the company will see how the fodder situation evolves in the coming months.
The company, which imported fodder into Kerry during last Spring, recently announced a package of measures to help farmers deal with extreme weather conditions.
The company has also announced that the base milk price for July will increase from 31 to 32 cent per litre inclusive of VAT.
Meanwhile, Kerry Group is planning acquisitions around the world of up to €800 million this year.
