Kerry GP says Brexit already impacting supply of medications

A Kerry GP says Brexit is already having an impact on the supply of medications.

Dr Eamonn Shanahan says it’s something people will have to get used to, due to changes in the transportation of drugs with the UK leaving the EU.

People who go to their pharmacy for some prescription drugs, including contraceptives,  are being told they’re unavailable, and may be offered a similar alternative.

Dr Shanahan says supply chains are changing as companies are having to find alternative routes to ship their products, and some countries are stockpiling to prevent shortages.
