Kerry girls who didn’t get HPV vaccine can still do so

Parents of teenage girls in Kerry who haven’t got the HPV vaccine are being reminded they can still do so.

The HSE will be returning to schools in the county in March to give first year students who were vaccinated in September and October the second dose of the vaccine.

The HSE says those who didn’t get the first dose can do so at this time.

20,000 girls have refused to get the vaccine over concerns about side effects.

Dr Brenda Corcoran is Head of the National Immunisation Office with the HSE on the HPV vaccine.
