Kerry gardaí say text alert system is leading to fall off in anti-social behaviour

A community text alert system is reducing instances of anti-social behaviour in Tralee.

See Something Say Something is a text-based system launched in Tralee, where members of the public can report suspicious activity to the local garda station via text.

Since it was introduced last July, it has received over 400 responses – a number of which have resulted in arrests and prosecutions.

Garda Shane Kelly says it has been a huge success, particularly in reducing cases of anti-social behaviour near the town’s tourist attractions.

Following its success, See Something Say Something is now to be introduced in Killarney.

A date is not set for its implementation, however it’s expected to be launched in Killarney in early May.
