Kerry FF TD calls for maximum waiting time for driving times

Kerry Fianna Fáil TD John Brassil says there needs to be a maximum waiting time for driving tests.

He’s calling on the Transport Minister to consider introducing this as a means of driving down waiting times for learner drivers.

Deputy Brassil says the Road Safety Authority has committed to waiting times of 10 weeks.

However, he claims  the average waiting time for driving tests  in Killarney is 15 weeks but that some people are waiting up to 18 weeks.

The Fianna Fáil TD says this is an unacceptable waiting period for people in rural Ireland who are dependent on their car.
