A Kerry father, who is fighting for his life, is hoping to raise half a million euro for a US cancer trial.

Andrew Cooke, who run’s QC’s boutique hotel and seafood restaurant in Cahersiveen, has a rare form of lung cancer.

He was recently told it has spread and his only option is to travel to the US in an attempt to save his life.

The Cooke family launched a GoFundMe page as their insurance won’t cover them in the US.

The Cooke family and Andrew’s oncology team have tried to get the drug prescribed in Ireland on a compassionate basis.

Leaving his family at this stage of his cancer journey will be very difficult, but this is his only option as time is not on his side.
