Kerry emigrants face Christmas in US jails

Many emigrants from the county are facing Christmas in U.S. jails for overstaying their visa. Kenmare native Kieran O Sullivan works with the Irish Emigrant Centre in Boston and he says people are being put in jails across the United States because detention centres are full. They have not been charged with any crime and will most likely be deported but it takes 8 – 10 weeks to process individual cases. He says there have been a number of incidents in the last few weeks.
