Kerry Diocese says child protection procedures immediately put in place following allegations against retired priest

The Diocese of Kerry says it immediately put into practice child protection procedures after it discovered a priest who had retired to Ballybunion was accused of abuse. Canon Stanley had served as a parish priest in Rochdale. Greater Manchester Police are investigating the allegations of historic sexual abuse made against the 82-year-old who has not been charged. Jim Sheehy is the designated person for the safeguarding of children in the Kerry Diocese. Mr Sheehy says Canon Stanley used to provide cover for weekday Masses in Ballybunion  but is not ministering now. [audio_player src=””]
