Kerry County Manager’s job is advertised nationally.

Applications are now being sought for the position of Kerry County Manager. The job is being advertised after Martin Nolan informed council members last week that he’s to retire when his contract expires in April. Martin Nolan became Kerry County Manager in 1997. Following Martin Nolan`s announcement that he will not be seeking reappointment to the post of Kerry County Manager the job is now being advertised nationally.Applications will be sought from all around the country and also from within the county itself. According to the local appointments commission the applicant is required to have an impressive track record in administration and management at a high level. While the position itself is described as a challenging role and an exciting and unique opportunity to continue the development of the county. Tom Curran who’s been appointed Deputy Manager is seen as the front-runner internally. He’s told Radio Kerry news that’s he’s still to decide if he’ll apply. Closing date for applications is the 12 of February.
