Kerry County Councillor says busking bye-laws must be finalised before the summer season

A Kerry County Councillor says busking bye-laws must be finalised before the summer season.

Councillor Niall Kelleher brought a motion to the monthly meeting of the Killarney Municipal District, calling for clarification on the introduction of bye-laws in the town.

He claims gardaí have received numerous complaints about adverse noise from buskers in Killarney.

The Fianna Fáil councillor also claims he’s received negative feedback from tourists and residents.

In response, Kerry County Council says it will have to get clarity on busking bye-laws, however, it notes it’s a time sensitive issue.
