A Kerry County Councillor has called for the provision of a swimming pool in Mid Kerry.
Councillor John Francis Flynn brought a motion to a recent monthly meeting of the South and West Kerry Municipal District, calling on Kerry County Council to examine the feasibility of building a swimming pool in Killorglin.
The council has been involved in a number of studies and developments in other parts of the county in relation to swimming pools.
However, they say the initial investment required, along with maintenance and running costs, mean such a project is unlikely to be developed without private investment.
Kerry County Council adds it’s not in a position to consider such a development at this time.
