Kerry County Councillor calls for meeting to address gaps in ambulance service

A Kerry County Councillor says it is time the council sat down with members of the ambulance service, the HSE and officials from the Department of Health to address gaps in the service. Norma Moriarty 1 Cllr Norma Moriarty was speaking following an incident recently in Caherciveen when an ambulance couldn’t transport a patient to hospital because there was only one paramedic on duty. Cllr Moriarty says the patient was writhing in pain due a hip injury. Her council colleague John Joe Culloty is to raise the situation at tomorrow’s meeting of the Southern Regional Health Forum.
