Kerry County Council received 94 applications for a social housing improvement scheme.
The Repair and Leasing Scheme was established to harness the accommodation potential that exists in vacant properties around the country.
The scheme provides for the cost of any necessary repairs to a vacant dwelling to be met upfront by the local authority, subject to suitability.
The property owner then enters into a lease arrangement with the local authority and the value of the repairs is offset against the agreed rental payment.
In Kerry, 94 applications were submitted by the end of the first quarter of this year, 7 of which were deemed suitable from the outset.
While the properties still need to be fully inspected, 22 have been deemed unsuitable.
None of the 94 submitted properties are operational.
