Kerry County Council investigate unauthorized development.

Over 500 inspections were carried out during the past year by those investigating unauthorized development in the county. In all Kerry County Council spends over 2 million euro on planning control and a significant portion of this goes towards enforcement. During 2003 over 500 inspections were carried out to investigate unauthorized developments in Kerry. Meanwhile over 100 enforcement notices were served and over 300 warning notices and letters were issued. Additional staff have been appointed to the planning section of the County Council to ensure that this level of enforcement continues throughout 2004.
